Our Community Engagement Program opens doors — connecting local contractors and residents to real opportunities on our projects. We’re committed to meaningful involvement, not just participation.

Outreach

We employ outreach strategies to actively identify and engage local, diverse subcontractors, guiding them toward successful participation in our projects. Our experienced team prioritizes collaboration with local firms, understanding the importance of maximizing participation from local and disadvantaged business enterprises. We proactively identify and award subcontractor and supplier opportunities in a systematic and transparent manner.

Our active involvement in community outreach has led to measurable successes in business and workforce inclusion, underscoring the effectiveness of our efforts in fostering equitable growth and development within the communities we serve.

Our Community Engagement Program includes, but is not limited to, the following types of businesses:

  • Minority Business Enterprise (MBE)
  • Women Business Enterprise (WBE)
  • Small Business Enterprise (SBE)
  • Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)
  • LGBT Business Enterprise (LGBTBE)
  • Veteran and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business

Prequalify with LIFTbuild

Our programs identify, thoroughly vet, support, and collaborate with targeted businesses. Our project teams works closely with these firms to understand their capabilities and capacity. This may include site visits for a comprehensive assessment. To be considered for our projects, please:

  1. Meet the project team by attending targeted project outreach events or scheduling a one-on-one meeting.
  2. Complete the prequalification process.

We encourage eligible firms to obtain local and state certifications in advance, as our project team will require them prior to submitting bid proposals.

Prefabricated Building Techniques = Better Workforce Development

The nature of LIFTbuild’s repetitive approach creates an excellent opportunity to train and develop tomorrow’s workforce, and the intentional use of prefabricated building techniques helps ease their learning curve.

Through our Community Engagement Program, we are actively:

  • Developing training opportunities that encourage the participation of underrepresented groups in skilled trades
  • Strengthening partnerships with government, workforce, and educational organizations focused on career and technical education (CTE) and on-the-job training
  • Establishing pathways for job seekers to connect with subcontractors seeking skilled trades positions on our projects
  • Turning client hiring goals into actionable workforce strategies that reflect the needs of the local community
  • Offering paid skilled trades training through the Barton Malow Boot Camp pre-apprenticeship program

We are committed to investing in people — creating access to careers, training, and growth. By supporting new pathways into the industry, we build stronger teams and stronger communities.
